The shade names

Seven shade names run across this range: Nude, Natural Nude, Nude Skin, Skin Color, Bright Skin, Beige and Cream Light. All seven sit in one narrow band of warm pale tones, and no published system says what any of them means.

So the names do not rank. Bright Skin is not lighter than Cream Light in any defined way, and neither is darker than Nude. They are labels chosen by whoever wrote each page, and a name here has no relationship to the same word used by another brand.

We print them as written and stop there. Seven of the twelve options share a single photograph, so drawing a colour chip from it would be an average of somebody else's studio lighting, presented as a fact about a colour nobody stated. That is a guess wearing the maker's name.

What works instead is the photograph on the retail partner's page, read with the usual allowance: studio light flatters warm tones and flattens the differences between them. Match to the skin of your chest rather than to your face, because the chest is what shares the frame with the cup.

And if the choice is close, err slightly deeper rather than lighter. A cup a shade darker than skin reads as shadow at the edge. A cup lighter than skin reads as an object sitting on top of it.
